Easy Way to Make Granny Squares into Rectangles

I had to give up on the 10 Stitch blanket. It was going along great but I don’t have enough yarn to make the size I want. I can’t find any more of that yarn. So at some point that yarn will become something else.

This means I have to start over with these baby blankets and I have about 5 minutes to get 2 of them done.

This yarn is a cotton yarn that I ordered to make baby blankets, but then I had a hard time finding away of working up the yarn that looked nice and I liked. I was trying to avoid my old stand-by of just making granny squares. That didn’t work.

I thought I’d share how I turn granny squares into rectangles. It’s fairly easy. This video isn’t the best but if you are interested in a better tutorial let me know in the comments. We can also chat about project ideas using these rectangles.

Yarn shown is Ice Yarns Lorena Colorful. 55% cotton 45% acrylic. It is soft but doesn’t have any stretch.
